My name’s Simon, and I’m a laser engineer from Chippenham in Wiltshire. I take pictures of landscapes and cityscapes and such. Basically all the scapes. I hope to use this place to show off some of my best ones.

The term “far field” is used in optics to describe the way light diffracts when it is far from its source. A laser beam for example exhibits far field diffraction when it is far from the laser itself (at least a couple of Rayleigh lengths away). So, in a sense, all the photos here were taken in the far field. Yeah that’s right, it’s a bad pun. Get used to it!
